MEISNER

Connected through Meisner

Fabrizio Daniele and Emma Padoan both completed the Designated Meisner Teacher training with Scott Trost, the director of the Meisner Institute Los Angeles. From this intensive shared experience, not only did a deep artistic connection emerge, but also the idea to firmly establish the Meisner Technique in Switzerland. Together with Scott Trost, they are now founding the Meisner Institute Switzerland – as the official partner institute of the Meisner Institute LA – with the goal of making authentic Meisner-based actor training accessible in Switzerland.

"Acting is the ability
to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances"

The Technique

The Meisner Technique is one of the most powerful acting methods in the world. Its goal: truthful behavior in the moment. Instead of focusing on external performance or artificial emotions, Meisner trains the ability to respond honestly to impulses and to be truly present. Through simple yet profound exercises – like the famous Repetition – actors learn to forget themselves and engage authentically with their scene partner. Sanford Meisner summed it up with the phrase: “Acting is the ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.” That’s exactly what makes this technique so unique – and so powerful.
